Benedict Wallis Ltd (company number 12324326), 49 Queensdown Gardens, Bristol, BS4 3JD, is responsible for personal information collected through this website and enquiries. Contact [email protected] about your information.
What we use and why
We use contact details, messages and meeting information you provide to respond to enquiries, arrange calls and deliver services. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract with you, or our legitimate interests in handling business enquiries and client relationships. Information needed for accounting and other legal duties is processed to meet those obligations. Providing enquiry information is optional, but we may be unable to respond or provide services without relevant details.
Our hosting and security systems process technical information, including IP addresses, requested pages and activity, for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website. With your consent, Google Analytics measures page visits, browser/device information and interactions such as contact-link clicks.
Services and sharing
We use SiteGround for hosting, Google Mail for business email, and Calendly connected to Google for meeting bookings. Google also provides analytics and fonts; Gravatar provides the contact image. External fonts and images may disclose your IP address and browser information when loaded. Following links to other websites, including Calendly, takes you to services with their own privacy notices.
These providers may process information outside the UK. Their privacy and data-processing information describes their locations and transfer arrangements: SiteGround, Google, Calendly and Gravatar/Automattic. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.
Cookies and browser storage
Analytics is off until you agree. Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) identify browsers and maintain measurement sessions for up to 180 days. Google Tag Manager also loads only after analytics consent. Use Cookies in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawal stops future analytics collection; it does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Consent choices and a dated choice record are stored in your browser (stcm.bw.* and bw-consent-receipt). We ask again after 180 days or a relevant notice change; stored entries can remain until your next visit or until you clear them. Your chosen colour theme (bw-theme) is stored for the browser session. These settings are separate from optional analytics.
Retention
We do not currently apply a fixed deletion schedule to enquiries and business correspondence. You can request deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will assess your request and explain if we need to retain particular records for legal obligations or legal claims.
Website redirect and error logs are configured for seven-day retention and security event logs for twelve days. Some blocked-user or account-related security records are kept separately. Analytics cookie expiry does not delete information already held by Google.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the email above to exercise your rights or raise a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
